Relcomm relays for WIMAX.

March 2007, RELCOMM Technologies announce the release of high power surface mount relay for  Mobile WiMAX (IEEE 802.116e-2005) broadband services .

Tower Mounted electronics now requires elaborate bypass functions, one of which will be a coaxial relay to perform a bypass function (power to bypass the amplifier and prevent power reflection to the amplifier) in the case of a power loss.  The coaxial relay must meet the specified requirement of handling 60W of RF power @ 2.4-5 Ghz with minimal insertion loss and have superior PIM performance.  Initial samples were provided by RelComm to a subcontractor to Sprint Nextel in early March this year and passed all specifications with margin to spare.

 

The RelComm robust PCB style relay handling up to 120W @ 2.5 Ghz is available in two actuations, failsafe and pulse latching, and one unit of this transfer "circuit insertion" device replaces two traditional 1P2T coaxial relays resulting in lower cost and higher MTBF calculations.  The two P/N's presently available are -
